Pre-service Teacher PCK Development

There have been many studies using a variety of multi-method research approaches that have looked at the development of PCK in teacher preparation programs, including how the explicit inclusion of the construct of topic-specific PCK can facilitate pre-service teachers’ PCK development in the topic of Chemical Equilibrium. The intervention model developed for topic specific PCK was used in my teaching of pre-service teachers in South Africa. There is therefore a need to report on studies that have used this data to build a better picture of the importance of the explicit inclusion of the construct in pre-service teacher development.
